Today's Obsession: Don Shank

by Patric King · 2 comments

Don Shank, whose name you don’t know but whose work you do, has opened a store of his original work. Go! Buy!

Who’s Don? Oh, you'll recognize his hand. Don’s design and imagecraft has been informing the entire world’s visual sensibilities for years now with his work on features such as Up and The Incredibles, cartoons like Ren and Stimpy and The Powerpuff Girls, and my personal favorite, Samurai Jack. You won’t see much production work on his own site, probably for legal reasons, but who cares? His own work is such a delightful collection of retro-futuristic candy pop forms that it’s easy to see his hand in the films’ development, easier to enjoy the depth his work shows beyond what's widely known.
