Today's Obsession: 20 Things I Learned About Browsers and The Web

20 Things I Learned About Browsers and The Web is a lovely little book, sort of, created by the Google Chrome team to do a couple of helpful things. Firstly, for us more advanced users, it displays what Chrome can do with HTML5-based goodies, and it gives an important conceptual reason why we should play with HTML5, CSS3, and clever JavaScript: to give a sense of weight to a book, density to a page, and gentle animation techniques. For people who aren’t advanced, it’s just a lovely, smart book. And it works on that level as well. It’s illustrated by Christoph Niemann, and works offline, so you can have your non-geek friends open this, then walk away from their computers—where they may feel anxious—and read at their leisure.

It is a fun little book but... bad typography makes me sad.
