The "meh" should be "Mah God!" because Ms. Millman has captured the spirit of the day in all its gory. As habit seems to be second nature to her, we have her inestimable trademark of smash-crunched words, taking what would normally present itself as cliche and making it resound. The words "bestill" can sound like the animal roar of the word "bestial," which clues us in to the savagery of love; thus the background velvet that stains the eye, and the constant conjuring of the word "bleeding,' because cruel and savage love can cut to the core. This is thoughtful work that skewers the hypocrisy of Valentine's (when we consider all those lonely and lovelorn souls) and makes it bleed.

I don't know, Hubert — you really seem to be stretching it. I don't see any of what you said. I sort of agree with David.

You people are harsh! I think it is really nice.

Love it. What came first, Debbie, the title or the piece?
