I have been obsessing over silk-screen prints and wanted to make a special 2011 silk-screened poster to celebrate the coming year. I approached the artist, Paulina Reyes with an idea featuring Dogs from the Soviet Space program which we hoped would allow the blank areas to command a weight as Space and not simply negative space. The result is a five-ink silk-screened print measuring 25" x 19" run on a deep blue 80 pound card stock featuring Laika streaking across the starry sky.
