"Mubarak Steps Down" and "Egypt Military Officially Takes Control As Crowds in Cairo Erupt in Jubilation," reads the screamer on The New York Times.  18 days of protest ends 30 years of autocratic rule. "Protesters hugged and cheered and shouted, 'Egypt is free!' and 'You’re an Egyptian, lift your head,'" were among the words on the ground. "He’s finally off our throats,” said one protester, Muhammad Insheemy. “Soon, we will bring someone good.”

To commemorate Hosni's not so hasty retreat, here are some of the signs, symbols, marks and slogans used by the Egyptian people to amplify their protest and pride.
